Kay Bojesen Guardsman With Sword
Posted by Webb's Mid-Century on
Kay Bojesen's Royal Life Guard Regiment consisted of several different soldiers and the Officer was part of the troops. Kay Bojesen created the soldiers for the first time in 1940 on the occasion of King Christian the X’s 70th birthday as a tribute to the Danish king. At that time, they stood guard as one meter tall soldiers outside Kay Bojesen's shop in Bredgade. In 1942, Kay Bojesen created the smaller figures in the same size as we know them from the Postman and the Police Officer. The officer carries his saber and stands as the leader of the Regiment.
