Kay Bojesen first created his soldiers in 1940 to mark King Christian X's 70th birthday, taking inspiration from the guards at Amalienborg Palace. The smaller Guardsman followed in 1942 and provides the inspiration for this Tivoli Officer. Its playful expression reflects Bojesen's belief that “the line must smile.”
The red-and-white uniform recalls the Tivoli Youth Guard's musical processions through the gardens. Turned from FSC-certified beech wood and carefully painted and printed by hand, the officer brings that ceremonial spirit into your display, complete with a sword.
