A fairy-tale keepsake with a story of love and togetherness.
The Kay Bojesen Shepherdess brings H.C. Andersen's beloved fairy-tale character into your home. With her gilded shoes, gold-detailed hat, shepherd's staff and heart-shaped mouth, she captures the sweetness and adventurous spirit of the story in painted wood.
In The Shepherdess and the Chimney Sweeper, the two sweethearts escape up a chimney rather than accept the marriage chosen for the Shepherdess. The world beyond proves overwhelming, and they return together to find that the old Chinese figure can no longer decide their fate. Their journey becomes a story of courage, devotion and love finding its way.
Kay Bojesen's imaginative wooden universe and H.C. Andersen's storytelling share an enduring appeal across generations. Give the Shepherdess a place on a shelf or sideboard, or pair her with the separately sold Chimney Sweeper as a symbol of love and togetherness. She is a thoughtful wedding or anniversary gift, and a characterful addition for fairy-tale enthusiasts and Danish design collectors.
