A little rhythm, a lasting connection to Tivoli.
The Kay Bojesen Tivoli Drummer Small brings the spirit of Tivoli's musical processions into a characterful limited-edition wooden figure. Dressed in red and white, with a drum and drumsticks, it is a thoughtful keepsake for someone who loves Tivoli, Danish traditions or Kay Bojesen's Guardsmen.
Kay Bojesen first created his soldiers in 1940 to celebrate King Christian X's 70th birthday, inspired by the guards at Amalienborg Palace. The smaller Guardsman followed in 1942 and provides the inspiration for this Tivoli Drummer. The figure carries the playful expression behind Bojesen's belief that “the line must smile.”
Tivoli's Youth Guard is known for its music and red-and-white uniforms, with its youngest members beginning in the Tambour Corps on drums and piccolo flutes. Turned from FSC-certified beech wood and carefully painted and printed by hand, the Drummer recalls that tradition. Display it on its own or alongside the Tivoli Officer with Sword for a complementary pair.
