The officer at the head of a classic Danish design family.
The Kay Bojesen Guardsman with Sword carries his sabre as the leader of the designer's wooden Royal Life Guard Regiment. With his proud stance and familiar character, he brings a piece of Kay Bojesen's design history to your shelf, desk or celebration table.
The story began in 1940, when Kay Bojesen created soldiers to mark King Christian X's 70th birthday. The original metre-tall figures stood guard outside his shop in Bredgade. In 1942, he introduced the smaller figures that became the familiar Guardsman family, with the Officer taking his place at the head of the troops.
Made from FSC-certified painted beech and standing 22.5 cm tall, the Officer is a thoughtful keepsake for someone with a connection to Denmark or a love of wooden design. Display him alone or alongside the separately sold Drummer, Standard-Bearer and Guardsman with Rifle to build your own regiment.
