🌸 Blue and lilac petals, framed in gold.
The Royal Copenhagen Flora Plate Rhododendron brings a botanical composition to your table. A rhododendron rises from the bottom of the plate, its delicate blue and lilac petals accompanied by golden leaves and a gold rim.
Designed by Anja Vang Kragh in bone china, the plate's naturalistic decoration offers a nod to Royal Copenhagen's iconic Flora Danica collection. This piece belongs to the Flora collection, celebrating individual flowers and their place in the long tradition of floral language, from Victorian floriography to Japanese hanakotoba.
Imagine setting a dinner table where the flowers are part of the place setting itself. Use this 27 cm plate for a main course, or bring it to the centre of the table as a serving dish. Its floral detail makes it a thoughtful addition to your own tableware, or a considered gift for a host, botanical design enthusiast or Royal Copenhagen collector.
Why choose the Flora Rhododendron plate:
- 🌸 A distinctive floral motif: blue and lilac petals give the rhododendron its individual character.
- ✨ Golden accents: golden leaves and a gold rim complement the naturalistic decoration.
- 🍽️ Two serving roles: use the 27 cm piece as a dinner plate or serving dish.
- 🎨 A connection to design heritage: Anja Vang Kragh's Flora design nods to the iconic Flora Danica collection.
- 🎁 A thoughtful gift: for collectors and hosts who enjoy botanical tableware and Danish design.
The three waves
Royal Copenhagen's three blue waves were proposed as the factory's trademark in 1775 by Queen Dowager Juliane Marie. They symbolise the Sound, the Great Belt and the Little Belt, Denmark's three main waterways, connecting the piece with the manufacturer's heritage.
